The Workplaces Ordinance governs workplaces and traffic routes on construction sites
Together with planning the construction site facilities, the requirements of the Workplaces Ordinance must be implemented as well. In addition to safe workstations and traffic routes, this includes sanitation, recreation and break facilities, fire safety, escape routes and first aid.
When planning the construction site facilities, the requirements for economic and contract-compliant building must be consolidated with the requirements regarding safety and health protection.
The technical rules for workplaces (ASR) specify the Workplaces Ordinance. They are developed by the Committee on Workplaces (ASTA). The ASR comprise requirements applicable to both stationary workplaces and construction sites; a series of ASR contain additional and deviating requirements regarding construction sites. Practical help and information support the implementation.
Requirements under Workplaces Law must be implemented by the individual companies for their employees. In this, cooperation with other companies on the construction site must be coordinated. The coordination pursuant to the Construction Site Ordinance also contributes to this. It is often possible to economically implement requirements in the field of industrial health and safety together with facilities used together.
