Strategic Research & Development Management

The staff unit "Strategic Research & Development Management" is responsible for the alignment and realisation of the research and development (R&D) activities as well as for the efficient organisation of R&D management processes at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA).

The staff unit coordinates and evaluates the implementation of BAuA's strategic principles through multiannual work and research programmes, arranges for monitoring and quality assurance of these programmes and takes part in their further development. On the basis of the work and research programmes, it coordinates the planning, contracting, processing and evaluation of R&D projects at the Federal Institute and controls the R&D budget as well as the budget for researchers in early career stages.

Furthermore, the strategic unit is in charge of the central management of the Research Data Centre of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Forschungsdatenzentrum der BAuA, FDZ-BAuA), the coordination of BAuA’s third-party funds as well as the monitoring of programmes to promote the work of early-career researchers.

The administrative offices of the Research and Development Council as well as the offices of the Ethics Committee and the Scientific Advisory Board are located at the Strategic Research and Development Management unit.
