Guidance on protection against corona in the workplace

The "BAuA Recommendations for Action on SARS-CoV-2" (BAuA Handlungsempfehlungen SARS-CoV-2) continue to provide reliable guidance to organisations on how to protect their employees.

It is still not possible to rule out relevant regional and workplace outbreaks of coronavirus. Against this background, employers are urged to constantly adjust their risk assessments in response to changing rates of infection, as required by the German Safety and Health at Work Act (Arbeitsschutzgesetz, ArbSchG) and the SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety Ordinance (SARS-CoV-2-Arbeitsschutzverordnung). BAuA is supporting organisations' efforts to do this with its "BAuA Recommendations for Action on SARS-CoV-2". This document provides information about both the infection control measures to be considered in workplace risk assessments and additional measures that have proven their worth over the past years.

Other rules, such as those set out in the Biological Agents Ordinance (Biostoffverordnung, BioStoffV) or the guidance on infection control, still have to be observed. The recommendations made by the employers' liability insurance associations on managing the risks from SARS-CoV-2 should also be drawn on when concrete, sector-specific approaches are being developed.

The "BAuA Recommendations for Action on SARS-CoV-2" is only available in German.
