Occupational health surveillance during work with hazardous substances and biological agents
Here, we present you with the tasks and research work of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) surrounding the Ordinance on Occupational Healthcare.
Since 2008, occupational health surveillance during work with hazardous substances and biological agents has been governed by the Ordinance on Occupational Healthcare (ArbMedVV). Its specifications were adopted and adapted from the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances and the Biological Agents Ordinance. The Committee for Occupational Medicine (AfAMed) is anchored in the ArbMedVV. In the scope of the policy advice and professional representation in the AfAMed, among others, BAuA addresses the following topics:
- justifying the occasion of occupational health surveillance
- the organisation of examinations and the relations between doctor, employee and employer
- the position of biomonitoring in terms of the care
- vaccinations in the scope of occupational health surveillance
- the relationships between care, risk assessment and general occupational medicine advice
- reasons for occupational health surveillance and limit value concepts
