Teaching - a multifaceted profession with many psychological demands and health issues

As part of the 2024 BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey, 548 teachers working in general primary, secondary, and special education schools were interviewed. The results show that teachers are frequently exposed to high psychological work demands and report a variety of health problems. More than half state that they frequently have to supervise multiple tasks simultaneously, are often confronted with new tasks, and frequently work under strong deadline or performance pressure and noise exposure. The most common health problems are general tiredness, fatigue, and exhaustion.
