Working conditions and job satisfaction in temporary work

Since the 1990s, temporary work has been an established part of the German labor market, supported in part by the Employment Promotion Act and the Hartz reforms. Companies use temporary work to respond more flexibly to market demands and to reduce recruitment and turnover costs. In recent years, temporary work has often been the subject of public debate due to deregulation and concerns about poor working conditions. Evaluations of the 2018 BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey suggest that temporary work can be improved.
