Description:
The Study on Mental Health at Work (S-MGA) provides a data set unique in Germany for analysing etiological relationships between working and employment conditions, mental health, work and functional ability, as well as work participation.
In the fourth wave of the survey that will take place in 2029/2030, participants from the first three waves will be surveyed anew. Additionally, the number of participants from previously included birth cohorts will be updated, and younger birth cohorts will be added. A random sample will once again be drawn from the group of employees in Germany subject to social security contributions, ensuring a representative data base. The data set will thus provide a sufficiently large sample size for analysing specific questions within individual subgroups. The goal is to achieve a total sample size of 10,000 people.
Due to its high data quality, S-MGA is not only of great interest to science but also has considerable relevance for research-based policy advice as well as for practical target groups such as occupational physicians and health insurance companies.
