On hot summer’s days, high temperatures in workplaces can rapidly develop
into a source of stress. A reduced working performance, fatigue and difficulties
concentrating, and in some cases, cardiovascular strain, are the result. For
this reason, BAuA has published recommendations for workplaces both
in buildings and outdoors.
BAuA's research aims to ensure a safe and healthy working environment that is adapted to the needs of humans.
39 % of employed persons who work mainly outdoors receive regular instruction on the risks presented by solar radiation.
The German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health offers selected publications in English.
Both in the workplace and in our day-to-day lives, we use many different everyday items and technical work equipment. To protect our safety and health, it is essential that products be fully developed, well thought-out and properly tested and, as far as possible, inherently safe and user-friendly.
The Federal Office for Chemicals (BfC) at BAuA is responsible for the implementation of regulations in chemicals law. Find out what BfC is doing to protect people, animals and the environment from hazardous chemicals.
