The Good Construction Campaign (Offensive Gutes Bauen) network has been absorbed into its "sister network", the SME Campaign (Offensive Mittelstand). From now on the Good Construction Campaign’s issue-related activities and practical guidance documents will be further developed and administered by the SME Campaign’s Craft Trades Expert Group (Fachgruppe Handwerk).
The practical guidance documents describe the practice followed by successful companies and construction projects, translating scientific findings into hands-on advice. They provide a concise overview of the most important issues, as well as simple methods of initiating change that enable practitioners to further develop their own companies and projects step by step, and so put in place the right quality parameters.
The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA) has been contributing to these networks since 2004. Launched originally as the INQA Construction Site Network (INQA-Netzwerk Baustelle), the Thematic Initiative Group for the Construction Sector (Thematischer Initiativkreis für die Bauwirtschaft) took up its work in May 2004 before evolving into the Initiative New Quality of Construction (Initiative Neue Qualität des Bauens, INQA-Bauen) in May 2005. Its activities are geared towards networking, the development of a shared understanding of quality, and the provision of practical guidance documents on the real-world implementation of quality measures and approaches to cooperation.
