Smart technologies and augmented reality in the working world

(in German)

Modern information and communication technologies (ICT) with integrated sensors are already part of everyday life in some companies. Where work can be supported by adaptive technologies, such as tablets or data glasses, there is also potential for aug-mented reality (AR). Against this background, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is conducting research on smart ICT and AR as adaptive work assistance systems in order to derive potential support for employees as well as design recommendations for practice.

On 19th September 2023 the BAuA organized a symposium on this topic to bring to-gether the current state of research and practice in this field. Various researchers pre-sented their findings on the use of new technologies for production and service, for work-integrated learning and for more participation in the in the workplace. This report summarizes all presentations in the form of scientific proceedings.
