Millions of employees in Germany work partly or entirely outdoors. Compared with indoor workers, they not only perform more physically demanding tasks but are also exposed to a wider range of environmental conditions. The 2024 BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey provides answers to key questions: Which occupational groups are affected? What working conditions and health complaints are most common among outdoor workers? And to what extent do employers offer workplace health measures?
