Simplified sound prediction in workspaces with BAuA's SPA tool

(in German)

The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) provides the Sound Prediction App (SPA), a practical tool that is available free of charge for simplified sound prediction in workspaces. The software facilitates the estimation of sound pressure levels at workplaces. This is based on the geometric and acoustic properties of the workspace, as well as the noise emission declarations of the sound sources. Determining factors are the sound power level LWA and the emission sound pressure level LpA at the workstation. The calculation method implemented in SPA is essentially identical to the mirror source method according to VDI 3760. To increase user-friendliness, the room equipment parameters are selected from practical classifications. This article presents both the range of functions and the scope of the software.
