Mental health: Future research issues

(in German)

Theoretical models concerning the effects of stressors combined with resources over different time spans should be developed. Research into the regulation of emotions needs to focus also on the source and the type of the emotion. Atypical work conditions, qualitative features of time schedules, psychological aspects of technical environmental factors, methods for identifying and integrating cultural issues as well as human-computer interface problems for forthcoming technologies will be important research issues. Working conditions of the low-skilled and of leaders should not be neglected. It is assumed that work biographies will be more discontinuous in future. Accordingly, work-related sciences are challenged to address the organization of life-long learning processes as well as periods outside paid work and their relation to mental health.
