Mission 2030 - A participative exhibition about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
From 1 May to 25 September 2022 a new exhibition is transporting visitors to seven different countries on four continents on a search for ways of making the world a better place. The exhibition is based on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
- Date 2022-05-20

Pupils become UN delegates and meet young people who report on daily life in their own countries. They discuss issues, test ideas, and work out what kinds of development could be best for particular regions and why.
They can do a quiz about the SDGs or work their way through a set of “explorer cards” with fascinating information on DASA’s exhibits about sustainability. The DASA Working World Exhibition has just received the BNE Seal from the Ministry for Environment, Agriculture, Conservation and Consumer Protection (Ministerium für Umwelt, Landwirtschaft, Natur- und Verbraucherschutz) of North Rhine-Westphalia as a Certified Education for Sustainable Development Setting.
The BNE Seal is awarded to places of learning that make particular efforts to ensure their activities are sustainable. This opens up lots of exciting possibilities for teachers. DASA has mapped out a “green path” forward for its communication work and offers various programmes relating to sustainability. For instance, it is possible to gain insights into the life cycle of a T-shirt and the supposedly thrilling world of “kid influencers”. Production conditions around the world are highlighted, as well as the rights workers, not least including children, should be entitled to.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important as a learning goal at DASA, whether young people are looking for specific careers guidance or simply want to look round the exhibition at their own pace.
