What exactly is PPE? The term refers to equipment intended to prevent or reduce risks to a person's safety and health. They are worn or held on the body or parts of the body and include, for example, protective helmets, protective goggles, face shields, hearing protectors, respirators/breathing apparatus, protective footwear, protective gloves, protective clothing, safety harnesses, life jackets and pierce-proof clothing, as well as skin protection products.

PPE may only be placed on the market if they meet the provisions of the European PEE Regulation (“Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on personal protective equipment and repealing Council Directive 89/686/EEC”).
