Manual for the development of evidence-based information for employees

Evidence-based health information is a prerequisite for informed choice. Workers also demand more and especially trustworthy information. The demand for evidence-based health information is based on ethical rights. Part 1 of the present manual for the development of evidence-based information for employees gives an overview of the methods of evidence-based medicine, comprising identification, selection, and critical appraisal of the relevant literature. In addition, databases are presented. Part 2 outlines the criteria for evidence-based health information and summarizes the evidence. Subsequently, the criteria are illustrated, using topics from the fields of occupational medicine and work safety. Finally, the conclusion summarizes the main findings.
