BAuA Work and Research Programme 2022 - 2025

The Work and Research Programme 2022-2025 sets out the priorities adopted by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA) for its activities during this programme period.

Once again, the structuring framework of the Work and Research Programme is based on the Institute's four established strategic fields of activity with their specific objectives, research priorities, and implementation measures. In this respect, particular attention will be devoted to cooperation between researchers working in different thematic fields and between BAuA's different divisions. This will also be reflected in the continuing prominence of the key interdisciplinary topic Safety and Health in the Digital World of Work, which has a substantive focus on issues relating to artificial intelligence.

Another key interdisciplinary topic, The Infection Control/OSH Interface, will see BAuA addressing new developments and challenges that have been brought to light by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

In addition, the new Work and Research Programme outlines plans for the further development of the Institute's DASA Working World Exhibition (DASA Arbeitswelt Ausstellung) and explains the principles and working methods applied in BAuA's various areas of responsibility - research and development, its statutory and official regulatory tasks, policy advice, practice transfer, and the public communication of scientific and technical knowledge. At the same time the Programme also describes the main features of BAuA's organisational structure and its personnel development priorities.
