Whether they are examining patients, responding to emergencies, carrying out operations, delivering therapies, or providing care - employees in medical professions perform an amazingly multifaceted range of tasks, working in close contact with people who need their help. It is all the more important to ensure they enjoy safe, healthy working conditions.

Visitors can find out at first hand about the abilities and skills required in these critical jobs. There are exciting interactive displays in every part of the exhibition. Anyone who wants to can test their dexterity with surgical instruments or try out a disability bike. Models of all kinds of viruses, a hidden picture puzzle of the emergency services dealing with an incident, and playful activities such as a quiz about emergency sirens convey serious information in entertaining ways.

The exhibition is aimed not just at experts, but above all at families and school classes, and is intended not least to get young people interested in healthcare careers. It is the only comprehensive exhibition about the contemporary world of healthcare work anywhere in Germany.

Appropriate rest break arrangements particularly important in nursing and care

Good working conditions are an important criterion when choosing a career, and absolutely essential if someone is to spend many years in the same job. Appropriate arrangements for rest breaks are fundamental to the maintenance of employees’ performance and work ability. The measures it is possible to take are set out in a new baua: Guidance brochure, Appropriate Rest Break Arrangements in Nursing and Care. This publication deals with the fundamental principles of rest break organisation, the challenges encountered in nursing and care settings, the features of appropriate rest break arrangements, guidance for nursing and care staff, and recommendations for managers.
