Description:

Filling and emptying of liquids is one of the most frequent processes involving hazardous substances in workday life. Appropriate Control Guidance Sheets describing the required safety measures can be selected using the EMKG, the BAuA tool for chemical control banding. In the background, the Control Guidance Sheet is connected with an exposure band that according to the control banding approach shall be attained by implementing the recommended measures. The effectiveness in practice of Control Guidance Sheets for filling and emptying of liquids will be evaluated through workplace measurements. This requires an adapted measurement and validation strategy to evaluate among others the implemented technical and organizational measures. In the context of the project, a methodology will be developed that also can be applied to validate other Control Guidance Sheets.
