Description:

The internet-plattform for product safety is a pool of information concerning the topic "Safe Products" in the field of the German Law on technical work equipment and consumer products (Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz, GPSG). A internet based tool for recalls addresses the producers (in the meaning defined in the Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 3 December 2001 on general product safety) who want to fulfil their legal obligations to immediately inform the competent authorities as first increment of the portal. Other modules will enlarge the portal to all questions on product safety in the responsibility of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. It than addresses to persons working in the fields of engineering/construction/design of products and to persons seeking general information on safe products.

Finaly the portal will offer facts for producers, distributors, design engineers, teachers, professors and learners as well as for the general public to identify deficient products and to be informed about risk combined with special technical products.
