Reporting Recalls correctly

Timely and comprehensive information of product users and authorities in case of recall presents major challenges for every company. Nevertheless, it must always be ensured.

The recall form of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is aimed at manufacturers, authorised representatives or importers. In the form, all important information and data regarding the product recall can be transmitted safely and comfortably to BAuA in one reporting process. Of course your personal data will be handled according to the regulations of the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG). After submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

We offer yet another service: As a central reporting office of the Federal Government for deficient and dangerous products, we notify the local market surveillance authority if manufacturers, authorised representatives or importers have not already done so themselves.

If we have been reported a website for the respective product recall, we publish or link the recall at short notice or at the desired time on our website

Product Safety Business Alert Gateway

The European Commission also supports companies to comply with their reporting obligation towards the national authorities: With the help of the Product Safety Business Alert Gateway, manufacturers and distributors comply with their obligations under Article 5 (3) of the General Product Safety Directive (2001/95/EC, GPSD). The Directive provides that all important information on a dangerous product can also be deposited with authorities of other Member States. In this way, recalls for the entire European market are published quickly and in an uncomplicated manner.
