Junior researchers - practical research that makes an impact

Whether taking part in research projects or getting involved in the provision of policy advice, BAuA's junior researchers have opportunities to enhance their employability by deepening their understanding of practical, societally relevant research topics.

For example, the events held by the Junior Research Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) enable early-career scientists studying digitalisation and artificial intelligence at BAuA to benefit from the experience of our senior personnel and collaborative networks. There are also plenty of chances to learn from others' experience in the NAWUWI network, which brings together BAuA's up-and-coming researchers.

At BAuA, students writing their BSc or MSc dissertations or PhD theses can work on innovative research projects and translate the results directly into practical solutions. As a junior researcher, you will contribute to the expert scientific debates within BAuA and engage in intensive dialogue with our research and transfer partners. Our PhD students are supported and trained with in-house programmes like Science+, which conveys interdisciplinary knowledge and teaches key skills, such as project management, writing, research methodology, etc.

Training with a job at the end - first steps towards your future

BAuA delivers training in a large number of occupations. From office manager and chemical laboratory assistant to IT engineer, we offer apprenticeships for people with all sorts of interests and a range of school-leaving qualifications. What makes BAuA special is that, if you train with us, your final assessment will not mark the end of your time here. We usually award two-year contracts to all our apprentices once they have completed their training. Postgraduate legal trainees - practical experience in BAuA's administration and the Federal Office for Chemicals

We offer a wide range of opportunities for postgraduate legal trainees to work in our administration and the Federal Office for Chemicals (Bundesstelle für Chemikalien, BfC).
