Working conditions of employees in low-skilled jobs - a challenge for health

Results from the 2018 BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey show that employees in low-skilled jobs are disproportionately affected by physically demanding working conditions. However, psychological work demands are also significant. These conditions are reflected in the workers’ health status: musculoskeletal complaints occur more frequently among employees in low-skilled work than among those in medium- and high-skilled positions. In contrast, there are hardly any differences between these groups of workers in the number of psychosomatic complaints.
