One of the research projects supported by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) involved the preparation of examplary checklists for selected products, allowing the systematic assessment of these products with regard to their safe and healthy design. The checklists are based on specific definitions of product-related hazards and occupational safety and health requirements. These were identified by conducting research into laws, regulations, standards and specialist literature before being weighted using specific evaluation methods.

Additionally, an overview of selected approval marks and quality seals was drawn up in relation to product properties relevant to safety and health.
