The BAuA develops practically-oriented guidelines for occupational safety. In this way, we support companies and organisations in successfully implementing their risk assessment and in specifying appropriate protective measures for work which involves hazardous substances.
In addition to links to a range of substances databases, we have also collated our own information on specific hazardous substances. You can find both of these under "Substances information".
According to the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, "The risk assessment may only be carried out by appropriately qualified persons. If the employer is unable to draw on the appropriate knowledge then they must seek professional advice." In this respect, we assist you by pointing you in the direction of consultants.
The goal of the Ordinance on Occupational Healthcare (ArbMedVV) is to identify at an early stage and to prevent work-related illnesses, including industrial diseases. Furthermore, occupational healthcare also aims to contribute to maintaining employability and to the further development of health and safety at the workplace.
