Legal Consequences of Classification

Database provides support with the assessment of chemicals

A database offered by BAuA enables the user to determine quickly and in detail, whether the chemicals they use are subject to legal standards valid in Germany based on their classification.

The information in the database allows the derivation of possible consequences for the application and use of the substances. Users can also see how the legal consequences are constituted and to whom they are addressed. The database has two parts: firstly, it contains the consequences which are directly connected to the CLP Regulation, and secondly, the regulations which are still linked to the former Directives 1999/45/EC and 67/548/EEC. In 2019, BAuA performed a project to update this database.

BAuA has compiled the database in all conscience. The database does not make any claim to the completeness or accuracy of the information provided. It can be used as a supportive tool, but does not free the users from their obligation to check the area of law which is of relevance to them.
