Interpretation of the Machinery Directive by the Machinery Working Group of the European Commission

The Machinery Working Group of the European Commission regularly conducts consultations on current issues concerning the application of the Machinery Directive.

The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) operates in the Machinery Working Group.

This interpretation is not legally binding. It supports a uniform application of the Directive in Europe.
