Legal framework for the classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals in the EU
What hazards are involved in handling chemicals? How do you indicate these hazards? How should you package substances or mixtures? All of this is governed by the CLP Regulation.

In addition to this, the identification of hazards under the CLP (classification, labelling and packaging) Regulation is the basis for risk management measures, for example authorisation or restriction under the REACH Regulation and a broad range of subordinate areas of law.
Further information on the contents of the CLP Regulation and on its links to occupational safety and health can be found on the website of the REACH-CLP-Biozid Helpdesk and on the webpages of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) relating to hazardous substances.
