The Work and Research Programme 2018-2021 is based on the results of the 2014-2017 programme period. The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) will continue its efforts in the four predetermined fields of action and develop them further in a well-directed manner.
New questions arising from social and technological transformations in the world of work are met directly. In this respect, researching the risks and opportunities that are associated with advancing digitalisation is of considerable importance. The federal institute therefore intends to further develop its research on social and technological change in the world of work according to current advances in knowledge and combine them in the form of the key topic "Safety and Health in the Digital World of Work".
Moreover, in the new programme period, BAuA will intensify its cooperation with universities, set up a research data centre, and further intensify interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and networking in BAuA's fields of action.
Based on findings from BAuA's completed project "Mental Health in the Working World", evaluation and intervention studies in operational settings shall receive high priority in the 2018-2021 programme period to gain valid formative knowledge.
