A Study on etiological associations between working conditions, mental health and work ability
The aim of this project is the conduction of the second wave of the "Study of mental health at work" (S-MGA). S-MGA is a representative sample of the German workforce aged 31 to 60 years. The focus of this study lies on the investigation of associations between psychosocial work characteristics and mental health, work ability and functionality. Extending S-MGA to a longitudinal study addresses important research gaps in this research area and enables to investigate determinants of early retirement. The longitudinal design allows us to study cause-effect relationships, the definition of thresholds for psychosocial workload and the calculation of attributable risks.
