Our data for your research
The Research Data Centre of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (FDZ-BAuA) offers access to selected data from BAuA research.
BAuA conducts studies on various aspects of employment in Germany. To enable researchers from other institutions to use data from these studies for their own research, the FDZ-BAuA prepares selected data sets as Scientific Use Files. Currently, Scientific Use Files are available from two panel studies, the Working Time Survey (Arbeitszeitbefragung) and the Study on Mental Health at Work (Studie zur Mentalen Gesundheit bei der Arbeit), as well as from the cross-sectional study "Healthy digital work".
In addition, the Research Data Centre offers Public Use Files that are available to both researchers and the interested public. The first available Public Use File is a Job-Exposure Matrix based on the Employment Survey 2018 (Erwerbstätigenbefragung 2018) conducted jointly by BAuA and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung, BIBB).
In July 2021 the Research Data Centre was accredited by the German Data Forum (Rat für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten, RatSWD www.konsortswd.de/ratswd/). Established in 2004, this body advises the federal government and the state governments on expanding and improving the research data infrastructure for the social, behavioural and economic sciences.
