Basic evaluation of the BIBB/BAuA youth employment survey (BB-JETB)

(in German)

The BIBB/BAuA Youth Employment Survey (BB-JETB) was initiated and conducted by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) for the first time. This cross-sectional survey takes working conditions, work demands, resources and work pressures into account as well as the health situation of young employees, trainees and interns in Germany. The fact that there was no satisfactory data for the above mentioned issues regarding young employees was decisive for this study.

A total of 3214 young employees were included, aged between 15 and 24 years and working at least 10 hours per week. Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) were used as assessment tool. Statistically absolute and relative frequencies were calculated. For the present cross-sectional analysis only weighted data were used.

This basic evaluation serves to provide an initial overview of the collected survey data and variables.
