Understanding and duty of care from the occupational medicine perspective

(in German)

Based on the compilation of the current state of scientific evidence concerning the associations between various work condition factors and mental health provided by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, it seems reasonable to consider the professional competencies of the persons responsible for health protection at operational level. This is done from the point of view of occupational medicine. The reflections take into consideration the protection goals as described in the working conditions legislation, the self-understanding of occupational medicine, risk assessment as the foundation of all health related measures and the changes in the workplace caused by digitalization.
