The biomonitoring information system "Biomonitoring-Auskunftssystem" of the BAuA in 2017

(in German)

The biomonitoring information system (Biomonitoring-Auskunftssystem) of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) enables users to research information related to biological monitoring of specific hazardous substances and substance groups. Users can for instance clarify which parameters are measurable in which human sample materials if a certain exposure to a hazardous chemical has occurred, and additionally which current substance-specific guidance or threshold values are available. Access to the database is possible via the webpage of the BAuA at www.baua.de/Biomonitoring. The database is continuously updated and expanded. Recently, new data concerning the background levels of the US and Canadian population, the evaluation of lead levels in blood via the Technical Rule for Hazardous Substances 505 (TRGS 505 Lead) by the German Committee on Hazardous Substances (AGS), as well as the offers for interlaboratory comparisons of the Centre de toxicologie du Québec (Canada) have been added. Since 2017, the research results of the information system also contain hazardous substances links to the GESTIS substance database of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
