- Project number: F 2250
- Institution: infas Institut für angewandte Sozialwissenschaft GmbH
- Status: Completed Project
Description:
In a changing working environment, measures to maintain and promote work- and employability are gaining in importance. Assessments of current functional health and workability among employees are therefore required and this project aims at collecting the necessary representative data. Just as much there is a need for empirically firm knowledge about significant influencing factors (risks and resources) of workability.
Hence the project's objectives are:
- development of reference values about workability and functionality that can be used for scientifically based comparisons in the context of occupational health care and interventions for the promotion of workability and functionality,
- systematic exploration of context factors with regard to workability and functionality based on theoretical concepts,
- investigation of test criteria (validity/reliability) of instruments assessing workability and functionality,
- preparation of a longitudinal study about the prognostic value of instruments (WAI, ICF) for subsequent events e. g. early retirement.
This representative study will use a sample of employees (N=4500, including oversampling, based on the IAB panel) Reference values of ICF and WAI would be useful for various fields e. g. health promotion, prevention, rehabilitation and occupational health service. Potential users could come from occupational settings (occupational health specialists, prevention representatives etc.) and from organisations and corporations (health insurance, accident insurance).
