Dr Beate Beermann has been the Vice President of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) since 1 January 2021.
She has been working in the field of occupational safety and health for more than 25 years. After studying psychology with a focus on occupational and organisational psychology, she took up a post at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (Leibniz Institut für Arbeitsforschung, IfADo). The central issues addressed in her work were questions of working time organisation, mental workload, and stress-strain research. In 1992 she moved to the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. She was head of the Policy Issues and Programmes Division from 2011 to 2020.
