Management Division L 1 "Legal Affairs, Compliance"

The Legal Affairs, Compliance Staff Unit deals with legal matters on behalf of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA), as well as leading the efforts made to ensure BAuA acts lawfully and complies with all relevant regulations and standards.

The staff unit's legal duties involve managing contracts, providing internal legal advice, and representing BAuA in legal cases that are conducted both in and out of court.

Its compliance responsibilities include internal auditing, anti-corruption measures, and the handling of freedom of information applications and sponsoring arrangements. Apart from this, BAuA's data protection officer is attached to the staff unit.
