Many channels, one mission: getting our messages across
From press work and a range of online services to the various publication series we produce and the DASA Working World Exhibition, as one of our communications experts you will exploit all available channels to make sure our research results reach the right target groups and have a strong impact.
Highlighting our research
The research we do serves the clear aim of promoting human-centred work design. Our communications professionals create real value with the contributions they make to this goal. They ensure our scientific findings are not confined to the science system, but can have an impact at various levels and among the relevant audiences we are trying to engage with.
Our main target groups are actors in the world of work, both within individual organisations and across the economy as a whole, policymakers, regulators, and the general public. For the most part, our policy advice, official, and statutory functions are performed directly by the scientists responsible for research and regulation at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, BAuA). All other science communication and knowledge transfer activities are dealt with by the multidisciplinary team of communications professionals on hand at BAuA and DASA, who are highly skilled at presenting information appropriately for different audiences. Cooperating closely with our experts in research and regulation, we therefore approach knowledge transfer as a targeted, dialogue-oriented, science-based process. In this way we ensure employers, policymakers, academics, the occupational safety and health community, and the wider public take notice of our research results.
Our portfolio includes classic press work, our website, publications in various formats, social media content, and much more.
In addition, BAuA operates one of the biggest technical museums in Germany, the DASA Working World Exhibition. DASA conveys basic and introductory information about the world of work for a broad public. It also hosts temporary exhibitions that revolve around the individual and all their physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs. Its award-winning exhibition concept avoids finger-wagging, instead encouraging visitors to learn proactively through sensory experiences.
Our communication channels are just as diverse as our scientific and technical capacities. Communication scientists, psychologists, museum practitioners, educationalists, graphic and media designers, and many other specialists work together to get BAuA’s messages across loud and clear.
