Demographic Change - Work, Age and Health
The German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) has been dealing with the context of "work, ageing and health" since the 1990s. The developed research results are used for policy advice and are translated into practical guides for operational practice to support the design of safe and healthy workplaces with current knowledge. The focus of research is the analysis and evaluation of the effect of stress and strain for the identification of risks and opportunities of employment for health, physical and cognitive performance.
In addition to research, programs and initiatives developing practice-oriented tools are supported and tested directly in companies. The focus here is the Initiative New Quality of Work Initiative (INQA) and the model program for combating work-related diseases.
As a specialised federal research institution, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) has the task of scientific policy advice on health and safety at work. The research results are especially provided for the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), so that scientifically sound policy decisions can be made. Thus against the background of demographic change, the research work on aging and health continues to gain in importance.
