Organisational change in occupational work- and traffic-safety, environmental- and health-protection
This book describes change processes organisations currently have to undergo. The focus lies on occupational work- and traffic-safety, environmental- and health-protection. The human component of the work-environment is placed at the center for both being the recipient of organisational measures as well as initiating them. The theoretical foundation is based on Motivating Systems Theory. Derived from that, several types of hierarchically increasing interventions of worker-participation are introduced. In a total of nine field-studies these interventions are applied and evaluated as to their effects on attitudes, behaviour and organisational procedures. Pre-post control-group designs are being utilized. Results are discussed in their consequences for scientific endeavors for new challenges in occupational work- and traffic-safety, environmental- and health-protection as well as for application in the work-place. An extensive literature review closes the book.
