Teleworking - Study about gender aspects, type of teleworking and health

Aim of this study was to make a contribution to clarify the structure of conditions of work with teleworking and their influence on well-being and health.

The data base of a new research report on teleworking (Fb 973 "Effects of teleworking on health and well-being", 2002) is used for an in-depth analysis of the complex interaction of working conditions, psychosocial factors and work-life-balance.

Gender specific viewpoints brought results particularly to the personnel and occupational situation, to general conditions of work and health.

With the help of statistic viewpoints statements could be met to the so called "Complaint level" in the available sample in connection with the work situation and work life-balance. Insofar the question is handled, by which factors the "Complaint level" is affected.

Thus this methodology used to answer the question, how teleworking should be arranged in order to be health-promoting.

Teleworking actually is still no guarantor for a positive change of work situation and work-life-balance. Rather it saves a range of chances and risks, whose realization is considerably determined by the respective type of teleworking, as could be shown.

Concluding references to the health related work organization are given which concerned the better support with the entrance into teleworking, the relationship between work and private life and the general work situation.
