Workplace health promotion and company culture
The presented report contains the contributions and results of a workshop which was organized by the Division "Occupational Health Protection" of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in Berlin on September 13, 1997. After an introduction on the subject of the workshop by the organizer and a discussion of cost-benefit aspects from the point of view of the BAuA, reports of experience of an enterprise management, of a company doctor of a large-scale enterprise and of a company doctor of small-scale enterprises are presented. The afternoon"s workshop discussions dealt with the issue, how can company doctors face the challenges which result from the requirements of the design of a healthy company culture. The results of the discussions in three workshop groups are summarized, which dealt with changes and problems of in-house co-operation, healthy and unhealthy psychological aspects as well as issues of quality assurance within workplace health promotion.
