Biomonitoring in practice 2002

"Biomonitoring in occupational health practice" was the subject of a workshop at October 1, 2002, in the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Berlin. The workshop dealt with questions that the occupational health physician will meet while ordering, performing, and evaluating biomonitoring testing of persons exposed to hazardous substances. The selection of proper laboratories as well as possibilities of quality assurance of biomonitoric analyses and their assessment were discussed. Practical experience of actual application of biomonitoring was especially focussed. The following questions were focussed during the final round table discussion: Benefit of the TRGS 710; which consequence will have conspicuous measuring values? May biomonitoring protect people exposed to hazardous substances from long term damages? Practical relevance of DNA adduct monitoring. The workshop papers - full text as well as overhead presentations - and the contents of the round table discussion are published in the workshop proceedings presented here.

The complete Conference Proceeding "Biomonitoring in practice 2002" is also available as pdf-file (in German only).
