Multidisciplinary occupational health action - from clinical case studies to future networking
The celebration-year "The Evolution of Occupational Health - 75 Years of Multidisciplinary Occupational Health Action", was exclaimed in Berlin from May 2000 till June 2001 in memoriam of founding the first German ward for occupational medicine in the former "Kaiserin-Auguste-Viktoria" hospital in Berlin-Lichtenberg in 1925. This booklet presents the papers given at the final event, which occurs on the historical place, - at present the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA). Contributions related to the historical roots in Europe (Prof. Izmerov from the Occupational Health Institute in Moscow, Prof. Grieco from the Milan Institute), to the development of occupational medicine in Germany (Dr. Kochan, BAuA) as well as to the present challenges in Europe (Prof. Knave, President of the ICOH¹; H.-J. Bieneck, President of the BAuA). The last part was a round table discussion between the Regional Sponsors of the celebration-year dealing with the opportunities for co-operating at present and in future.
